MINING

Operating Coal Mines at Darra Adam Khel COAL MINES AT DARRA Approximately 4.9% of the country’s coal reserves are found in KPK. Spread over an area of 250 acres, the SaifCo Group Mining Project is currently producing around 100 Tons of Coal daily from opencast pits / deep underground mines in the mountains of Darra AdamKhel in the FR Kohat District, KPK. With annual production exceeding over 36,000 Tons, the engaged work force at these mines involve 250 well-trained and well-equipped workers.

The expansion plan extends to 03 more mines within the same vicinity and would almost double the annual production by midsummer 2013. The safety of workers is among the primary consideration at SaifCo Mining Division. The management has established this venture as a modern coal mines operation with rigorous safety procedures, health and safety standards and worker education and training in practice, which have led to significant improvements in safety levels in both underground and opencast mining. Complete facilities and accurate procedures are in place to almost elimchances for both fatal and non fatal injuries.
